During lockdown I started trying to work out how some songs are constructed in order to learn more about songwriting, and I got a taste for it. Recently I covered a modern classic, Oh Baby by LCD Soundsystem, trying to get as close as I could to the original.
The result is… well, I could have kept going for a year and still not got it perfect, so I called it and I’m happy with the result. But the original… what a masterpiece of production, really I got nowhere near it, but I recreated the tones pretty well especially that big ol’ dirty bass synth. It was a fun project for a couple of rainy evenings.
